Sean, James and I helped with the Masten Space Systems booth since our
friends were a little short on people to do both the booth and the
static firings of the rocket motors. I also got some pictures around the
show, but not like a spectator would have who actually came to see the
whole thing.
The highlights of the day were...
Armadillo Aerospace made their first attempt at Level 1 of the
NASA Lunar Lander Challenge.
A Rocket Belt demonstration had a man flying on a rocket in front
of the crowd.
A large high-power (hobby) rocket called Phoenix XL wowed the crowd with
a perfect flight, and demonstrated why rocketry enthusiasts are enthusiastic
about it. It flew 3 miles straight up, going well over the speed of sound.
