I went to the X Prize Cup 2006 to help my friends at Masten Space Systems.
MSS was one of four teams who had signed up to compete in the NASA Lunar
Lander Challenge. But in the end only Armadillo Aerospace was ready to
fly when the contest came. MSS still did some static motor firings and
displayed the "XA 0.1" lander prototype at the booth.
I also ended up helping on the second day of the show with the X Prize's
reporting on the Tripoli Rocketry Association's high-power rocket launches.
It was obvious from the first day that they could use some help and they
accepted my offer.
