The first day was a travel day... San Jose to Las Vegas to Nashville.
All the pictures are from those two flights.
On the San Jose to Las Vegas leg, I got a picture of the observatory on
Mt Hamilton. Then in Nevada, I got an aerial shot of Groom Dry Lake
and the runway across the lakebed.
(They don't officially admit anything's there.
But it's in aircraft on-board navigation databases with airport code KXTA.)
On the leg from Las Vegas to Nashville, the route basically followed I-40
the entire way. I got pictures of part of the Grand Canyon along the
South Rim.
I identified and got pictures of Albuquerque NM and Amarillo TX.
I was looking for Clinton Sherman Airport, also known as
the Oklahoma Spaceport, because
I had been there in 2002.
But it was probably either under the plane or on the left side.
