Tennessee and Kentucky, Sept 3-7, 2010

I went exploring Tennessee and Kentucky, with short hops through corners of Missouri and Virginia. I piled up lots of reasons for the trip. The first idea was to go see some confirmed impact craters for more experience related to my research into a possible impact crater at Nevada's Black Rock Desert. I had an airline frequent flier award trip which needed to be used. And these were some states I had never been to. With the idea to go there, history including Civil War battlefields was all over the map too. So it all came together to make a whirlwind tour of exploration.

The pictures are divided into directories/folders by each day on the trip.

September 3: fly from San Jose to Nashville
September 4: Wells Creek Crater, Fort Donelson Nat'l Battlefield, New Madrid Quake Landmark , laser light show at Land Between the Lakes Nat'l Rec Area
September 5: Mammoth Cave Nat'l Park, Middlesboro Crater
September 6: Cumberland Gap Nat'l Historical Park: Gap Cave and Pinnacle Overlook, Middlesboro Crater, Middlesboro Airport
September 7: Flynn Creek Crater, fly from Nashville to San Jose
