I first saw this fire from the parking lot of the Milpitas OSH near
the city center.
Though it was at a distance, it struck me that it's
an unusual sight (at least for me) to actually see the flames of a wildfire.
Usually that's only a view on TV. More often in real life we just see
smoke in the distance.
At that time, it was racing up a hillside toward the house seen in these
photos.
It was visible from all over Milpitas. A lot of people came to look.
By the time I went home, got my camera and returned,
the fire was a lot bigger but the CDF and Milpitas firefighters had
already saved the house. Good for them! That's what we all need them to do.
I took these pictures from Piedmont Rd just north of Calaveras Blvd.
