Tuesday was the day we were told would be the "maximum effort" for the
warbirds and especially the DC-3's which were celebrating their 75th
anniversary.
So it was also my day to focus on photographing the air show.
(They were going on every afternoon so I really couldn't prioritize
every day's airshow the same.)
As usual, I started in Aeroshell Square and then began exploring from there.
I attended a talk by retired airline captain Tony Yule about his career
in the airlines and especially the flight where he was first officer when
Concorde came to Oshkosh 25 years ago in 1985.
I watched the EAA Radio interview of Jeff Skiles, who became an aviation
celebrity when he was first officer on US Airways Flight 1549,
"The Miracle on the Hudson". Though Skiles has been a long-time attendee
of Oshkosh and is a Wisconsin resident.
In the static display areas, I went with the crowds through a
Wisconsin Air National Guard KC-135 tanker and an American Airlines 737-800.
The AA 737 captain let me sit in the left seat and took my picture.
(I'm multi-engine rated so it isn't as far away as the imagination once was
when getting to sit there.)
This is the day with the most photos of the air show.
This days pictures were mostly taken with a Digital SLR camera.
