There are pictures from my two trips to see the launch of STS-134, the Space Shuttle Endeavour in April and May 2011. The first launch attempt on April 29 was scrubbed. I returned to Florida for the second attempt on May 16, which succeeded.

Mission to Cape Canaveral III Part 1 - April 27 - May 2, 2011

  • April 27 - flight from San Jose to Orlando
  • April 28 - pre-launch tour of Kennedy Space Center
  • April 29 - STS-134 launch attempt... scrubbed
  • April 30 - playing tourist - no photos this day
  • May 01 - group visit to Epcot Center at Disney World
  • May 02 - return flight home
Mission to Cape Canaveral III Part 2 - May 15-17, 2011
  • May 15 - flight from San Jose to Orlando for 2nd launch attempt
  • May 16 - STS-134 launch attempt... succeeded
  • May 17 - return flight home
Endeavour launched into a 5000' cloud bank and quickly disappeared from view. See also Stefanie Gordon @stefmara's pictures from an airliner of what all 750,000 of us watching on the ground missed.
