This day I had no firm plans for most of the day. I had tried to call ELUG President Jeff Rose to let him know I was in town but he had turned off his cell phone. Eager to see new parts of Central Florida that I hadn't seen on the previous trip, I decided to "accept the challenge" and drove to the town of Eustis (30 miles northwest of Orlando) where he lives. When I found his house, Jeff and his wife asked me to join them for lunch.

I returned to Orlando in the afternoon, making a brief detour to see a town next to the highway called Mt Dora. The name intrigued me - after all, there are no real mountains in Florida. Well, I found the town but not the mountain. :-)

In Orlando I stopped again by the AMSAT lab, and then went to the ELUG meeting at the campus of the University of Central Florda (UCF), where I spoke about WebFetch. My presentation slides can be found at http://www.webfetch.org/elug-199911/

More spin balance work for Phase-3D. The shiny sections in the solar panels on this side indicate an area where cooling is more critical. The shiny part is just to reflect sunlight which would otherwise heat that panel.
