These are photos of the Space Shuttle Discovery landing at Edwards AFB on
Sept 11, 2009 at the completion of the STS-128 mission.
It's well-known that the Space Shuttle has a steep descent profile after
it goes subsonic.
In some of these photos, the apparent steepness of the Discovery's descent is
exaggerated because it's initially flying away from us.
We sighted it going overhead. Then it made a more than 180 degree right turn
(the "heading alignment cyliner" or HAC)
back past us to the runway at Edwards.
I'm posting cropped photos in batches. (40 of 160 done)
The uncropped photos are available in
their own subdirectory.
