Ian's Cycling Pages
I created this page to display pictures and GPS track maps from bike rides.
Basically this is for anything that might be interesting to put up
on the web site so I can refer friends to it.
If you just happenned to stumble in here while web surfing,
you're welcome to have a look around.
Pictures and more GPS tracks will be added as I do more rides. :-)
Here are pages with cycling routes, GPS tracks and/or pictures:
- Route from Evelyn LRT to SVBC

This is a route recommended by some SVBC members to get from the Evelyn
light rail station to an SVBC meeting at the Round Table Pizza in
downtown Sunnyvale.
- Alum Rock Park
- This is a ride near the neighborhood where I live.
Alum Rock Park is a nice ride with good scenery.
But it's a workout too.
- Sunnyvale Baylands
- There are a lot of trails on the levees by the Sunnyvale Baylands Park.
These are accessible via light rail and a short ride on city streets.
- Almaden Valley
- The Los Alamitos Creek Trail runs the length of the Almaden Valley
in South San Jose, and leaves town.
Alternatives on the ride can go through Santa Teresa County Park back
into town.
This route is accessible from the Almaden light rail station.
- Mountain View Shoreline Park
- The Stevens Creek Trail leads into Shoreline Park in Mtn View.
The ride follows a nice multi-use trail from central Mtn View to the
trails in the Baylands.
This route is accessible from the Mountain View Transit Center
(Light Rail & Caltrain).
- "Milpitas Loop" Route
- This is a less-organized route than the others so far.
It makes a loop in Milpitas
starting in North San Jose and going along the levees
of Coyote Creek, Lower Penitencia Creek and Berryessa Creek
to the Milpitas City Center, and back.
The software that I use to plot my GPS tracks
is a program called "rideplot".
I released the code in November 2001.
